As such, we pride ourselves in repairing the heaviest type of damage, and reestablishing the proper edge geometry for the rarest of knives. Thinning old and damaged knives will generally start at $50, but upwards of $200 depending on the nature of the job.

Please contact us at Knives@DistrictCutlery.com with multiple photos in good lighting proper consultation.

Our fee depends on how much steel needs to be removed and the difficulty of the job. These restorations will be done mostly with the use of a belt grinder with the final edge will be hand sharpened on stones up to 4000 grit.

This specialized service will include re-profiling, thinning, polishing and a final sharpening, making your knife as good as new or better. For wide bevel knives, we now offer a  Kasumi style finish for the secondary bevel. Think of it like a much needed day at the spa.
