Collection: Makoto Kurosaki Knives

Makoto Kurosaki is a talented craftsman from Echizen, Japan, known originally for his exceptional knife-sharpening skills at the Takefu Knife Village. As the older brother of renowned blacksmith Yu Kurosaki, he trained alongside him under master Hiroshi Kato, eventually carving his own path as a sharpener rather than a forger.
Known for refining blades from top smiths like Yoshimi Kato, Takumi Ikeda, and his brother, Makoto’s work—such as the Style-K line—features robust grinds and laser-sharp edges that balance durability and precision. Based in Fukui Prefecture’s historic knife-making hub, he sources forged blanks from local artisans, transforming them into high-performing tools with his meticulous technique. Recently opening his own shop after years at Kato’s forge, Makoto’s knives reflect both Echizen’s tradition and his personal flair, earning him a growing following among collectors and enthusiasts.
