Collection: Sukenari Hamono
Sukenari Hamono, established in 1933 in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, is a high-end knife manufacturer led by the successors of master blacksmith Hanaki Toukichi.
Based in a region framed by the Japanese Alps and a deep bay, this small, family-run forge excels in traditional techniques like mizu-honyaki—water-quenched Shirogami #1 blades echoing samurai sword methods—alongside innovative use of modern steels such as ZDP-189 and HAP-40. Under the guidance of Nobuo Hanaki, the third-generation blacksmith, Sukenari knives are prized for their impeccable heat treatment, razor-sharp edges, and stunning finishes. From their workshop in Toyama’s Hokuriku region, they craft blades that blend heritage with cutting-edge performance, embodying the spirit of “佑成” (Sukenari)—to be the trusted right hand of cooks everywhere.
