Collection: Takamura Knives
Takamura Knives, forged in Echizen, Japan, trace their origins to the early 20th century when Isamu Takamura established the family workshop, now led by his son Toshiyuki and grandsons Terukazu and Hideo.
Based in the Takefu Knife Village—a hub of Fukui Prefecture’s 700-year bladesmithing tradition—they craft exceptional knives using R2/SG2 powdered steel and their proprietary Chromax blend, balancing sharpness with corrosion resistance. Under Toshiyuki’s decades-long leadership Takamura Hamono was honored with Japan’s extremely
prestigious “Dento-Kogeishi” (Master of Traditional Crafts). Takamura has since pioneered high-speed stainless steel knives, earning acclaim from chefs like René Redzepi and Gordon Ramsay. Each blade reflects their meticulous, in-house process, delivering precision and durability that elevate culinary performance worldwide.
