Acre Forge is a community of passionate, expert bladesmiths based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members are all former apprentices of ABS Mastersmith Murray Carter. From one-of-a-kind Signature knives to production knives designed collaboratively by our makers, we’re committed to creating gorgeous, high-quality kitchen knives that chefs and home cooks alike can treasure for life.
Shamus Dotson is a founding member of the collective. As a bladesmith, Shamus has always pushed the conventions of traditional kitchen knife production with his distinctive blade patterns, contoured handle profiles and colorful materials combinations. In the last two decades, he’s made over ten thousand mostly forged knives and is still coming up with daring new designs for his signature collection.
